21 Australian Trefoil Guild Gathering held in Toowoomba Qld September 2014. 248 participants including 13 Internationals.
Thirteen lucky Trefoil Guild members spent a memorable twelve days at the Guide World Centre "Our Chalet" in Switzerland. The staff and volunteers at Our Chalet, who came from many different countries, made the members very welcome and provided them with a very diverse programme. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, which proves that there are many fantastic women in the world wanting to make a difference.
During the holiday, the ladies met other Trefoil Guild members from England, Canada, Antigua, and Japan. The fun and friendship will be remembered for many years to come. They were able to take part in many activities, from hikes to a wood carver and Engstligen Falls and the magic tree, to games and outdoor cooking. There were many visits to places in the Bernese Oberland, including an amazing train trip to the Yungfrau mountain known as the ‘Top of Europe', where they ventured out into very cold temperatures
in ice and snow.
They also visited the Ice Palace, which was filled with ice carvings. Visits included Interlaken, Thun, Blatten and Kippel in the Lotschental Region and an open air museum of Blallenberg.
Back at the Chalet, they took part in an international evening learning about the other visitors and their countries, a Swiss night complete with chocolate fondue, and a Swiss cheese and wine evening.
They all returned somewhat fitter, despite the many cups of hot chocolate and cake, as each day the ladies had to climb the mountain to the Chalet! Members described it as, "All in all a brilliant holiday."

Birthday Celebrations: Photo from the North Australian Trefoil Guild ( Darwin, Northern Territory) 60th ISGF birthday celebrations. We had planned a traditional Aussie BBQ however one of our Guide Halls recently burnt down & the local council was presenting a cheque to Girl guides at their last market for 2013 at Palmerston. We hastily changed our plans to support the local guides and enjoyed Asian takeaway instead of BBQ.
